Firstly please don’t do what nearly everybody does having spilt something on to their prized possession namely throw everything that’s under the kitchen sink at it and then try to rub it clean – the combination of which is guaranteed to ruin the pile. You can absorb liquids by placing a white towel or similar onto the spill so as to absorb as much as possible. Don’t be tempted to spread the stain by applying lots of water.

The important point at this stage is not to make the matter worse thus, if required, allowing us to carry out a more successful treatment of the stain.
